Al-Najd Development Forum Launches "Cash for Work" Project in Partnership with Global Communities and with Support from the World Food Programme. Al-Najd Development Forum launched its "Cash for Work" project, implemented in partnership with Global Communities (GC) and with support from the World Food Programme (WFP). This initiative aims to support women affected by the crisis and strengthen the resilience of Palestinian families amidst the difficult humanitarian conditions in the Gaza Strip. The 11-month project is divided into three-month work cycles, targeting 125 women and providing them with temporary income opportunities to help alleviate the increasing financial burdens on families. The project was launched in the presence of representatives from the World Food Programme and Global Communities, along with Al-Najd staff and the beneficiaries. During the opening ceremony, Rafqa Hamlawi, Chair of the Board of Directors of the Forum, expressed her gratitude to Global Communities and the World Food Programme for their support and implementation of this project. She emphasized that the initiative comes at a critical time, as thousands of families face dire economic and humanitarian conditions as a result of the ongoing war in the Gaza Strip. Hamlawi noted that the project constitutes a practical and direct intervention to support women, who are among the most vulnerable groups in crises due to the doubled responsibilities they bear within their families and communities. She added that providing temporary employment opportunities contributes to enhancing the dignity of the beneficiaries and empowers them to better meet their families' basic needs.
