Al-Najd Development Forum Conducts an Awareness Workshop for Women Who Lost Their Jobs Due to the War on Gaza Al-Najd Development Forum, in partnership with the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), conducted an awareness workshop on gender-based violence, targeting a group of women who had lost their jobs. The workshop was held inside one of the halted sewing factories in the Sheikh Radwan area of Gaza City, due to the ongoing war in the Gaza Strip. The workshop addressed the concept of gender-based violence, its various forms, and its psychological, social, and economic impacts. It also covered prevention methods, protection mechanisms, and available support for women under the difficult humanitarian conditions in the Gaza Strip. The organizers emphasized the importance of providing safe spaces for women affected by the war, allowing them to express the challenges they face, while raising their awareness of their rights and enhancing their ability to confront various forms of violence, especially in light of income loss and the closure of many job opportunities. This activity is part of Al-Najd Development Forum’s efforts to support women affected by the war, strengthen their resilience, and help alleviate the social and psychological effects resulting from the ongoing aggression in Gaza. The forum indicated that, in the upcoming period, it will be able to accommodate a group of female workers within future development projects, as part of its continuous efforts to support women and enhance their resilience in facing humanitarian and social challenges. At the conclusion of the workshop, the forum distributed health kits to the participants, as a means of supporting them and easing the suffering caused by the current circumstances.
