Al-Najd Development Forum Conducts an Awareness Session for Secondary School Girls at Al-Mahabba School in Nuseirat Al-Najd Development Forum, with support and funding from the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), conducted an awareness session on gender-based violence targeting secondary school girls at Al-Mahabba School in Nuseirat Refugee Camp. This activity comes as part of the forum’s ongoing efforts to raise awareness and enhance social protection for girls. The session included an introduction to the concept of gender-based violence, its main forms, and its psychological and social impacts on girls and the wider community. It also addressed prevention methods and available protection and support mechanisms, emphasizing the importance of safe reporting and breaking the silence. The session further highlighted the role of awareness in empowering female students and building a culture of respect and equality within the school environment. The session witnessed positive interaction from the students through discussions and questions, reflecting the growing need for such awareness activities, especially in light of the challenges and difficult conditions facing the Gaza Strip. At the conclusion of the session, hygiene kits were distributed to the participating students and teachers, as a gesture aimed at promoting health and personal dignity.
